MEREDITH’S STORY: “I have 2 children (24 & 20 yrs old). I bounced back with no problem after my first child, then after my 2nd child, life was so busy and I was nearer to 30, so I had more trouble getting rid of the weight.
I have always been very active and fit, exercising almost daily my entire life. I Run, hike, bike, weights, cardio, whatever, but no matter how much I exercised, I couldn’t lose more than 4-5 lbs. I tried diets, bought programs like Beachbody and Noom, but had no success.
In February, I saw Jen’s post about IF and thought, okay I’m going to try this. I had heard the saying “you can’t exercise your way out of a bad diet” so on March 1st I took my measurements, fasted for 12 hours, ordered Gin’s book, Delay, Don’t Deny, and drank black coffee for the first time. I kept a chart of my progress, fasting and exercise and by June 10th, I had lost 20 lbs.
I cut out most sugar, was watching what was in my food and really liked black coffee. I currently fast at least 16-8 but have a goal of 18-6 most days. I have a lot of energy and feel great. My husband follows the same eating schedule out of convenience and has lost 10 lbs. My Mother-In-Law has also seen my progress and now does IF.
I went on a 6 week camping vacation out west and kept my 16/8 fasting schedule. I ate pretty much whatever (lots of treats to try while on vacation) and had only gained 3 lbs when I got back. I am thankful for all the tips and info from the group -Thank you, Jen, for stepping out and challenging others to get healthy. I don’t ever see myself NOT using IF, it has become a part of my lifestyle.”
