How to Lose Weight Fast with "Clean" Intermittent Fasting!

In this post we will clearly define “clean” fasting. Additionally, we’ll explain exactly how to use “clean” fasting to lose weight quickly!

What is Intermittent Fasting?

Intermittent Fasting is an eating pattern that focuses on WHEN you eat, not WHAT you eat. Intermittent fasting alternates between periods of eating and not eating. It’s become super popular because it’s pretty flexible and can fit into many lifestyles. Additionally, it can help with weight loss and can be really awesome for your overall health goals.

What are the Benefits of Intermittent Fasting?

The list is long when it comes to intermittent fasting benefits. One major advantage is fat loss and weight management.

When we give our body regular periods of not eating, we can help control our calorie intake and promote weight loss and fat burning. Intermittent fasting also helps boost energy levels, improve insulin resistance and stabilize blood sugar levels.

Additionally, intermittent fasting has been shown to contribute to various health benefits. Some of these benefits include reducing body inflammation, lowering cholesterol levels and reducing the risk of heart disease. It might also help our brain function better, enhancing mental clarity and memory. Overall, intermittent fasting offers a holistic approach to health, addressing various aspects of our well-being and potentially contributing to a healthier and more energetic life.

Intermittent Fasting Benefits!

How Does Intermittent Fasting Help You Lose Weight?

First, let’s talk about how Intermittent fasting really can be a superhero when it comes to lowering body weight! In January of 2021, using the “clean” approach, I began intermittent fasting and successfully lost 46 pounds in just 4 months.

So, here’s how it works and why it works so well: Intermittent fasting helps with weight loss by controlling when you eat. When you give your body specific times to eat and specific periods of fasting, it’s like flipping a switch that tells it to burn fat for energy.

When you eat, your body gets energy from the food it has just taken in. It uses this energy for all your daily activities, like walking and talking. But, when you fast (abstain from caloric intake), especially for an extended period, your body no longer has fresh food to use for energy. So, it has no other choice other than to start tapping into your stored fat for fuel. And, this is when the real weight loss party gets started.

Additionally, intermittent fasting helps control our hunger hormones so when you fast, these hormones calm down and you don’t feel as hungry. This is incredible because it makes it much easier to adhere to a healthy diet and eat fewer calories overall.

What is CLEAN Intermittent Fasting?

Honestly, “CLEAN” fasting holds different meanings for different people and you will find conflicting viewpoints on this topic everywhere you look.

I, however, learned about “clean fasting” from a true intermittent fasting expert, Gin Stephens, author of Delay, Don’t Deny and Fast. Feast. Repeat.

After reading these two amazing books and devouring the information about the real and true power of intermittent fasting, I committed to fasting “clean” and achieved incredible weight loss results.

Delay, Don't Deny by Gin Stephens completely changed my life.

So, the definition (actually coined by Gin) of “Clean Fasting” to Gin, and to me, means doing everything we can NOT TO SPIKE insulin levels during a fast. This is because insulin is a storage hormone. And, since the main goal during a fast is to burn the most fat possible, we want insulin levels to be as low as they possibly can while we are in the fasting period.

What is DIRTY Intermittent Fasting?

You have likely heard the term “dirty fasting.” Well, what is “dirty” intermittent fasting? Unfortunately, this term is difficult to define because you won’t exactly find it in the dictionary. And, if you do a “Google” search for it, you’ll be blasted with “dirty fast” definitions and opinions that leave you more frustrated and confused than when you started.

Basically, dirty fasting is a modified and more pleasurable (debatable) form of intermittent fasting. The idea behind “dirty intermittent fasting” is to focus primarily on the timing of fasting and eating while being less strict about the number of calories consumed during fasting windows. Dirty fasting allows for occasional low calorie indulgences or less healthy choices like artificial sweeteners and diet soda.

What’s the Main Difference Between Clean and Dirty Fasting?

The main difference between clean and dirty fasting really boils down to how strict you want to be with fasting. A clean fasting plan, is much more strict and entails sticking to consuming extremely low or zero-calorie beverages like black coffee and herbal teas that won’t raise insulin levels during fasting hours. On the other hand, dirty fasting is a bit more lenient, allowing for slight modifications and a small amount of calories while in a fasting state.

Does Dirty Fasting Work?

Since every BODY is different, figuring out if dirty fasting works for you may include a serious game of trial and error. Some people choose to include bone broth, mct oil and even bulletproof coffee during their fasting window.

However, I personally dabbled in a little “dirty fasting” early on in my fasting journey and immediately noticed that it was slowing down my weight loss progress. Switching back to a clean fast where I stuck to black coffee, green tea and water, truly made a world of difference.

How Can I Get the Fastest & Best Weight Loss Results?

How can I get the fastest and best weight loss results? The answer to this question is really quite simple. The best way is to begin intermittent fasting, go ALL IN and start FASTING CLEAN!

Speaking from personal experience, I am definitely a member of the “Fasting Clean” Team. This is because fasting clean absolutely catapulted my weight loss results. After losing 46 pounds in 4 months with clean fasting I’ve continued to fast “clean” for the past two years. And, fasting “clean” has allowed me to easily and comfortably maintain my weight loss.
