How Danielle Found Success with FASTING + OMAD + KETO

Danielle, a 48 year old actress and production accountant from Los Angeles, California, combined FASTING + OMAD + KETO to find incredible success and finally reach her goal weight.

In this post, Danielle shares the winning formula she used to finally reach her goal weight: INTERMITTENT FASTING + OMAD (One Meal a Day) + KETO.

The Power of FASTING + OMAD + KETO

Danielle’s Top 3 Intermittent Fasting Wins

Danielle has experienced many wins with intermittent fasting but her top three are as follows:

  • #1 WEIGHT LOSS – As a woman over 40, Danielle had tried all kinds of strategies and crazy diets including Weight Watchers, Atkins and Jenny Craig, but always seemed to hit a weight loss ceiling that she was never quite able to push through. All of that changed when she began intermittent fasting.
  • #2 FINALLY HITTING HER GOAL WEIGHT AND STAYING THERE – With intermittent fasting + OMAD + KETO, Danielle found a Winning Weight Loss Formula that finally helped her to push past that ceiling and reach her goal weight. Danielle also loves how flexible “IF” is and that it works so well for maintaining her weight loss, long-term.

Preferred Intermittent Fasting Method – OMAD

Danielle has found incredible success with the OMAD or One Meal a Day intermittent fasting method. She usually sticks to 23-24 hour fasts, but will occasionally throw an extended fast (36-48 hour) into her routine to mix things up and keep her body guessing.

Biggest Challenge with Intermittent Fasting

Danielle has found that her biggest challenge with intermittent fasting is fighting with the crazy thoughts in her mind. After being told for decades that it is healthy and necessary to eat three meals and several snacks all day long, Danielle struggles, at times, to ignore and push that train of thought out of her mind.

However, Danielle is getting better with the self-talk, and has realized that she actually has less energy when she gives in to mindless snacking. She feels alive, energized and focused when she is in the fasted state and her body is running on ketones.

Danielle uses a few strategies to help her push through her fast and knock out those tempting thoughts related to snacking during her fasting window including:

  • Drink SPARKLING MINERAL WATER to help curb hunger and cravings.
  • Set HEALTHY HYDRATION GOALS and stick to them (Danielle tries to drink 1/2 gallon of water a day)
  • Adopt a YOGA or MEDITATION ROUTINE. Sometimes saying in a calm voice, “It’s safe and comfortable for me to continue with my fast” can be helpful.

Fasting Window Favorites

Danielle chooses to follow the advice of fasting guru (and my “IF Hero”), Gin Stephens, and “FAST CLEAN” during her fasting window – YAY! She sticks mostly to black coffee, water, and sparkling mineral water, with Pellegrino being her favorite. (Jen’s #affiliatelink)

Eating Window Favorites

Danielle generally sticks to a higher fat ketogenic diet. She has found that a ketogenic diet keeps her very satiated and makes it much easier to stick to her fasting schedule.

Danielle’s favorite Keto-Friendly foods include bacon, ribeye steaks with lots of butter and some coconut cream ice cream for dessert.

She sticks to lower carb vegetables including spinach, cucumbers, and roasted Brussels sprouts, and loves to indulge in a nice big chopped salad with an olive oil-based Mediterranean dressing.

Exercise Routine

Danielle tries to get outside and enjoy the California sunshine with a one hour walk each day whenever she can. She has found that walking, while in the fasted state, is an excellent fat-burning exercise that also helps her manage her stress levels and lower cortisol in the body.

Additionally, Danielle believes that stress management and self improvement are both key to an effective fitness program. She practices yoga/meditation and listens to podcasts, as well as, inspirational fasting audio books like The OBESITY CODE, DELAY, DON’T DENY and FAST. FEAST. REPEAT. while walking. It keeps her motivated and inspired along her “IF” journey.

Danielle has also found that adding a few days of strength-training to her exercise routine has been game-changing for her. It’s helped her gain muscle, boost metabolism, and manage her body’s set weight.

Danielle’s Final Tips for Success

  • It’s just as important what you are doing in your eating window as what you are doing in your fasting window.
  • If you are planning to attempt an extended fast (36 hours or more), it’s very important that you go slow and build up to it. Eating a high-fat diet 1-3 days prior can be extremely helpful.
  • If you’ve hit an intermittent fasting weight loss plateau, don’t be afraid to try combining FASTING + OMAD + KETO.
  • Focus on eating plenty of low carb vegetables like spinach and Brussels sprouts.
  • Pink Himalayan salt can help to boost energy levels. It can also be used to help satisfy your sweet tooth and support a sugar detox of the body.
  • Try to incorporate plenty of low impact cortisol-lowering exercise into your day including walking, biking, and yoga. And, if you’re trying to get into ketosis faster, try adding more strength/weight training to your daily routine.
