Meredith’s Top 4 Intermittent Fasting Wins

Meredith has experienced many wins with intermittent fasting but her top four are as follows:

  • #1 WEIGHT LOSS – Meredith lost an incredible 30 pounds with intermittent fasting over the course of about one year, almost reaching her high school weight.
  • #2 APPETITE CONTROL – Meredith has found that intermittent fasting has really helped her to control her appetite and blood sugar levels throughout the day.
  • #3 SMARTER FOOD DECISIONS – Intermittent fasting has really helped Meredith make smarter food choices. Her decisions about what she puts in her mouth have really improved.
  • #4 INCREASED ENERGY AND TIME – Meredith enjoys not having to prepare breakfast every day and focusing on fasting instead, and with this, her energy levels have increased and given her more time in her day to do the things that she loves, like spending time with her family.

Preferred Intermittent Fasting Method – 18:6

Meredith has experienced great success with the 18:6 intermittent fasting method, with her fasting hours falling between 6:00 PM until noon the next day.

Although that is her typical GO-TO fasting schedule, Meredith realizes the importance of mixing her schedule up once in awhile.

To avoid hitting a weight loss plateau and to keep her body guessing, she often throws in an OMAD or One Meal a Day intermittent fasting method.

Meredith uses the Intermittent Fasting App: FastMinder and enjoys this tracking app because it is:

Biggest Challenge with Intermittent Fasting

Meredith’s biggest challenges with intermittent fasting include occasionally overeating and making poor food choices (Like Chick-fil-A), especially on OMAD days.

Fasting Window Favorites

Meredith is a fan and proponent of the “CLEAN FAST” with her staples being plain water and black coffee during her fasting hours.

She struggled with the taste of black coffee at the beginning of her intermittent fasting weight loss journey but tried the Alton Brown “Salt” trick and it worked.

Now, Meredith LOVES her plain black coffee and no longer needs to put the salt in to cut the bitter taste.

Eating Window Favorites

Meredith often breaks her fast with bone broth. She also shared some fun and healthy eating window favorites with me.

She is a COSTCO FOODS fan and gets these two treats there regularly:

#1: Jackson’s (Kettle Cooked) Avocado Oil Sweet Potato Chips with Sea Salt

#2: Unreal (Low Sugar) Dark Chocolate Coconut Bars

#3: Meredith is also a big fan of my Homemade Runny Ranch Dressing Recipe and makes a batch up almost weekly.

Intermittent Fasting Exercise Routine

Meredith fits exercise into her schedule and often works out with her husband of 29 years, Geoff.

She enjoys running, walking, hiking, and strength training.

Additionally, Meredith and Geoff are both fans of the BODI by Beachbody subscription and workout system, with LIIFT4 (heavy lifting and intense cardio)being their favorite GO-TO workout program.

Meredith’s Final Gems

Meredith likes to spread the awesome word about how incredible intermittent fasting is. And, because of her success, Meredith’s husband, Geoff, also does intermittent fasting, as well as her mother-in-law.
