Hi there! I’m Jen, otherwise known as So What IF? with Jen and I love intermittent fasting.

I discovered and started living an “IF” lifestyle in January of 2021. I lost 46 pounds in 4 months (at 45 years old) and have been maintaining my weight and loving the “IF LIFE” ever since.

#1 TERRY CREWS

Alright, first on our list of “Star Fasters” is TERRY CREWS. Terry Crews is an American actor, television host, and former professional football player who is widely recognized for being pretty funny – and pretty “ripped” too.

He initially gained fame as an NFL athlete, and after retiring from football, he became famous in entertainment for roles in hit TV shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine and for hosting America’s Got Talent since 2019.

Terry typically follows a daily 16:8 intermittent Fasting Schedule, eating between 2pm and 10 pm.

He drinks coffee, tea, or coconut oil during fasting and credits “IF” for keeping him lean.

He is also very vocal about the longevity benefits of fasting.

#2 HUGH JACKMAN

Our next “Fabulous Faster” is HUGH JACKMAN – an Australian actor and singer best known for his iconic role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series, and for his performances in musicals and dramas like Les Misérables and The Greatest Showman.

Hugh used a 16:8 regimen to build muscle and stay lean for his “WOLVERINE “ roles and said he found it more manageable than eating every 2-3 hours.

He then continued this approach for years following.

#3 JIMMY KIMMEL

Next up is JIMMY KIMMEL who we all know as the host and executive producer of the long-running, late-night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Jimmy’s intermittent fasting routine is one that is not quite as well popular as the 16:8 method – and that is the 5:2 Diet or method.

Jimmy Kimmel Follows the 5:2 Intermittent Fasting Method

Jimmy typically eats under 500 calories on Mondays and Thursdays, and then he eats normally for the rest of the week.

He evidently lost 25 pounds with this method and has maintained a weight of around 182 pounds with this plan.

I’ve read and researched different things about the 5:2 method and it looks like Jimmy does the modified version where he eats 500 calories or less on 2 days during the week.

Another, more strict version would be where you eat zero calories for those 2 days and just stick to your coffee, tea, and water during your fasting hours.

I’ve actually done the 5:2 method on a few occasions and had pretty good success with it.

However, on the 5 off days I usually stuck to more of an 18:6 or a 16:8 schedule.

It’s a really great method to try if you want to push through a weight loss plateau and mix things up a bit.

#4 CHRIS HEMSWORTH

This brings us to the dreamy CHRIS HEMSWORTH. – Chris Hemsworth is an Australian actor best known for his role as Thor.

He’s also been in a bunch of other movies. If you’re a woman reading this, I’m sure you know who I’m talking about.

Anyways, Chris typically Uses the 16:8 method and sometimes throws in full-day fasts, especially when he’s preparing for a movie role.

He credits fasting for increased energy and faster weight loss.

#5 JACK DORSEY

JACK DORSEY is an American entrepreneur, tech billionaire, best known as the co-founder of Twitter.

Jack is an OMAD or “One Meal a Day”  guy. YAY! OMAD is definitely my favorite “IF” method.

Jack Dorsey follows an OMAD Fasting Schedule!

My intermittent fasting schedule is very similar to Jack’s schedule.

Jack generally fasts through breakfast and lunch and then eats only dinner.

He says that fasting provides him with heightened focus and productivity and I couldn’t agree more.

The mental clarity that comes with fasting is awesome.

And, not having to worry about what you are going to eat for breakfast and lunch, focusing only on dinner, is pretty freeing too.

#6 ELON MUSK

Alright, no political talk here but next on the list is ELON MUSK.

We all know who he is and he does fast periodically.

He claimed to have used fasting to lose 20 pounds and he also credits the use of the ZERO Fasting App for his success.

#7 JENNIFER ANISTON

Number seven on the list is the talented and beautiful actress, JENNIFER ANISTON.

Jen or Jennifer does not eat breakfast and consumes only liquids like coffee or celery juice in the morning.

Then she eats in the later part of the day. Jennifer Favors a 16:8 fasting routine and says that with fasting she has really “noticed a difference” in her health.

#8 KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN

KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN is another star who needs no introduction.

She combines KETO with INTERMITTENT FASTING which I personally believe is a very powerful strategy that totally works!

I know that combing OMAD with KETO or LOW CARB (under 30 grams net carbs daily) worked wonders for me and really helped speed up the weight loss.

Kourtney does 14-16 hour fasts nightly, sometimes an extended 24 hour fast once weekly—drinking water, bone broth, and green tea during fasts.

#9 GISELE BüNDCHEN

That brings us to another extreme beauty – and that’s Brazilian supermodel, Gisele Bündchen -who follows the 5:2 method—eating normally five days a week and restricting her calories to 500-600 on the other two.

She generally Fasts until lunchtime twice a week and especially loves fasting for the digestion and health benefits.

#10 ELSA PATAKY

ELSA PATAKY is a Spanish actress, producer, and model who just so happens to be married to Chris Hemsworth (lucky her, lol) who was #4 on our FASTING WITH THE STARS list today.

Elsa Started fasting after being introduced to it by her husband, Chris.

She is Now an advocate for “IF” and follows various intermittent fasts methods mainly for the anti-aging and metabolic benefits.

#11 ANDREW HUBERMAN

Next up, we have ANDREW HUBERMAN who is a Stanford neuroscientist.

He has been Fasting for 12-16 hours a day for over a decade, usually skipping breakfast and eating around noon.

Andrew Focuses on health benefits, and not just weight loss.

He has a great podcast called the HUBERMAN LAB and I always see it pop up when I’m checking on my “Intermittent Fasting Gems with Jen” Podcast.

You can simply go to your podcast app and search up “intermittent fasting” and his will pop up – and mine too!

#12 JOE ROGAN

We have come to JOE ROGAN – another fellow podcaster, who is basically like “The Podcast King” these days.

Joe uses intermittent fasting combined with carnivore and ketogenic diet cycles for fitness, energy and podcast productivity. 

And I totally agree with Joe in the energy and podcast productivity.

I most definitely get the most work done when I am in the fasted state, which is why I always record my podcast episodes when I am pretty deep (16-17 hours) into my daily fast.

My mind just feels more clear and I have a ton more energy for sure.

#13 HALLE BERRY

Number 13 is another absolutely gorgeous actress – HALLE BERRY.

Halle just so happens to have type 2 diabetes, so she prefers a ketogenic diet paired with intermittent fasting, usually eating in a 6-8 hour window for steady blood sugar levels.

#14 SCARLETT JOHANSSON

One of my favorite actresses of all-time is SCARLETT JOHANSSON.

She reportedly practiced intermittent fasting to prepare for her action movie roles, including “Black Widow,” often eating during late shifts and fasting in the mornings.

#15 REESE WITHERSPOON

Next up is another one of my favorite fasting stars – REESE WITHERSPOON. Reese is another beautiful actress who will be 50 soon.

Reese and I are only about 6 months apart (I’m older) so I’ve always kind of related to her.

She does intermittent fasting with a compressed eating window, skipping breakfast and eating a balanced lunch later in the day.

#16 NICOLE KIDMAN

While we’re on a role with actresses, let’s talk about NICOLE KIDMAN.
She also Incorporates different forms of  intermittent fasting into her lifestyle and uses it  as an anti-aging and wellness tool.

And Ummm, I’d say it’s working pretty darn good for her!

#17 GWYNETH PALTROW

GWYNETH PALTROW combines intermittent fasting with wellness cleanses, often skipping breakfast for coffee or juice, and eating her meals in the afternoon and evening.

#18 BEYONCE

Next up is the Fierce and Flawless singer, songwriter and performer, BEYONCE.

Beyonce adopted intermittent fasting and plant-based diets after pregnancy for weight loss and to prepare for physically demanding performances.

#19 GEORGES ST-PIERRE

GEORGES ST-PIERRE is #19 Georges St-Pierre is a Canadian former professional mixed martial artist widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history.

He utilizes intermittent fasting (often OMAD, one meal a day) to make weight for fights and maintain peak performance.

#20 MARK WAHLBERG

MARK WAHLBERG is next on our list and he is a famous actor and former rapper from the 90’s – Love me some “MARKY MARK.”

I also love the movie Daddy’s Home that he is in with Will Ferrel – So Funny.

Mark Follows an 18:6 fasting routine, eating between noon and 6 p.m.

His routine includes high protein foods and snacks to build muscle and maintain a disciplined schedule.

#21 MOLLY SIMS

MOLLY SIMS is American fashion model and actress.

She regularly follows an intermittent fasting diet routine often using a 16:8 eating window.

Molly also avoids late-night eating for better fat loss and metabolism boosting.

#22 VANESSA HUDGENS

Our next “Fasting with the Stars” Friend is VANESSA HUDGENS.

Vanessa is an American actress and singer who embraces 16:8 intermittent fasting as part of her wellness and weight maintenance plan.

She often combines fasting with yoga and low-carb eating.

#23 BROOKE BURKE

BROOKE BURKE is an American television host, model, actress, and fitness personality.

She was the co-host on Dancing with the Stars.

Brooke is also a big fitness guru and has launched fitness apps. She’s worked as a fitness educator and wellness advocate.

Brooke, herself Uses a 16:8 fasting plan and encourages her audience to try fasting for weight loss, metabolism, and longevity.

#24 MEGAN FOX

MEGAN FOX, the transformers actress, reportedly does intermittent fasting as part of a carb-cycling and fitness routine to stay lean for demanding movie roles.

#25 MIRANDA KERR

MIRANDA KERR is an Australian model who rose to prominence in 2007 as one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels.

She is seriously so stinkin’ beautiful!

Anyways, I especially thought her intermittent fasting routine was very interesting.

Miranda Practices an 80:20 approach. She eats healthy 80% of the time during her eating window and allows for “treats” the other 20%.

# 26 CHRISTIAN BALE

We are moving on to the “Dark Knight Guy” – CHRISTIAN BALE who is another famous actor who used intermittent fasting strategies to shed weight for several movie roles, which helped him with rapid muscle gain or fat loss as needed for films.

#27 PADMA LAKSHMI

PADMA LAKSHMI, Top Chef host who, after doing a lot of research, adopted an intermittent fasting lifestyle, mainly following a 16:8 IF schedule for gut health and weight maintenance.

#28 GABRIELLE UNION

Next Up – GABRIELLE UNION who also is a Star who practices intermittent fasting.

She often skips or delays breakfast to balance hormones and maintain fitness.

And I gotta say, right now, with my age (almost 50) and time of life, I am so thankful for intermittent fasting when it comes to the balancing hormones thing.

#29 DEMI MOORE

We have now come to the UBER-Famous actress, DEMI MOORE.

She has adopted intermittent and extended fasting as part of her detox and reset routines.

#30 BEN AFFLECK

BEN AFFLECK reportedly practiced intermittent fasting for his “Batman” transformation—and pairs fasting with intense workouts for muscle definition.

#31 LIV TYLER

Next up is LIV TYLER, famous actress, who like Beyonce, used intermittent fasting and time-restricted eating in conjunction with fitness regimens to slim down after pregnancies.

#32 DR. JASON FUNG

We have reached #32 on our FASTING With the STARS list and that is Dr. JASON FUNG.

Dr. Fung is a renowned physician and fasting advocate.

And, although he isn’t considered a “Star” or a Celebrity in the traditional sense, he is, in my opinion, THE FASTING GURU – the Go-to Guy FASTING.

He is known for practicing and teaching all about intermittent fasting and often does 24-hour and extended-period fasts.

He is a Canadian nephrologist and a leading expert in metabolic health, best known for promoting intermittent fasting and low-carbohydrate diets as effective treatments for obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other metabolic disorders. 

Dr. Fung is also New York Times bestselling author of influential books like The Obesity Code, The Diabetes Code, and The Complete Guide to Fasting, which have helped redefine approaches to weight loss and disease reversal through therapeutic fasting.

Dr. Fung also co-founded The Fasting Method, a program designed to support people in managing their health conditions naturally via lifestyle changes focused on fasting and nutrition.

In my opinion, Dr. Fung is just as famous or important as anybody else on this list and his book the OBESITY CODE is incredible.

If you haven’t read it and you’re serious about intermittent fasting – it is a definite must read.

#33 JENNY MCCARTHY

Alright we have reached the end the last FASTING WITH THE STARS celebrity – JENNY MCCARTHY!

I left the best for last on the list because, I must admit, I am a bit of a fan girl when it comes to Jenny McCarthy.

Jenny is a famous actress, however, I first became a fan back in the 90’s when she hosted the dating show SINGLED OUT on MTV.

I LOVED that show and so did my husband. Jenny has reported that intermittent fasting has helped her to help regulate her metabolism and support weight management.

Now, let’s rewind about 2 ½ years ago when I was just starting my Intermittent Fasting TikTok account and putting all of my Fasting videos on TikTok.

I put a quick little 44 second before and after intermittent fasting + OMAD + low carb eating video that kinda blew up and THE Jenny McCarthy commented on it.

AND… she started following me.

Yup, I immediately geeked out about it.

Actually, I think my husband was even more excited about the comment and follow than I was – she’s gorgeous and he’s also been a fan from way back when we used to watch “Singled Out” together during our dating years.

Well, that’s a wrap on our 33 “FASTING WITH THE STARS” list.

By drawing inspiration from the routines and successes of these well-known figures, you can find motivation and reassurance that your own fasting journey is both achievable and rewarding.

Please note that I could have gone on an on and had a much longer list because there are  A LOT of well known people who have come to love intermittent fasting like you and me.
